Size: About 8″ square and 4″ deep.
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn: White – 7 oz, 385 yd (196 g, 345 m) Green – 2 oz, 110 yd (56 g, 100 m) (We suggest using 3 skeins White and 1 skein Green, using yarn from both ends of skein.) Large Yarn Needle.
Crochet Hook: Size Q (16.00 mm)
Note: Basket is worked holding together 6 strands of White and 2 strands of Green – 8 strands in total.
BASKET BASE
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, ch 2, [sc, ch 2] 4 times in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. (4 sc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp, * sc in next sc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join as before.
(12 sc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * [sc in next sc] across to corner, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around, ending with sc in next sc; join as before. (20 sc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * [sc in next sc] across to corner, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around, ending with sc in next 2 sc; join with sl st to back loop of first sc.
(28 sc and 4 ch-2 sps) DO NOT FINISH OFF.
BASKET SIDES
Rnd 5: Working in back loops only, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, [sc in next sc] around, skipping corner ch-2 spaces; join with sl st to first sc. (28 sc)
Rnd 6: Working in both loops, ch 1, sc in each sc around; join as before. (28 sc)
Rnd 7: (Eyelet Rnd) Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 1, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] around; join as before. (14 sc and 14 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 8: Sl st in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, [2 sc in next ch-1 sp] around; join as before. (28 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing – use photo as guide
– Using 6 strands of White yarn held together, ch 24. Finish off. Weave through Eyelet Rnd. Finish off ends on wrong side of basket.
– Using 6 strands of White yarn held together, ch 20. Finish off. Tie into Bow. With 2 strands yarn and needle, attach Bow to center front of Basket.
