Crochet Hook: 8mm [US L-11].

Yarn needle.

Size: Boots should fit most babies 6-12 months. Foot Length: 4”.

GAUGE:9 sts = 4” in sc. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

hdc2tog (hdc dec): [Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop] twice, yarn over, draw through all 5 loops  on hook.

BOOTIE (make 2)

Ch 8.

Round 1: Work 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, (beginning ch counts as first dc) dc in next 4 ch, 6 dc in last ch, turn to work along opposite side of beginning ch, dc in next 4 ch, 3 dc in last ch, slip st in top of beginning ch to join – 20 dc.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in back loops only in each st around, slip st in beginning ch to join.

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sts, [hdc2tog] 4 times, sc in next 6 sts, slip st in beginning ch to join – 16 sts.

Round 4: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sts, [hdc2tog] 2 times, sc in next 6 sts, slip st in beginning ch to join – 14 sts.

Rounds 5-7: Ch 1, sc in each st around, slip st in beginning ch to join.

Round 8: Ch 1, slip st in each st around, slip st to beginning ch to join. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave in ends.
