RED HEART® “Eco-Cotton™ Blend”: 3 balls each 1340 Almond A and 1001 Snow B.Crochet Hook: 6.5 mm[US K-10.5] and 6 mm [US J-10]. (Eco-Cotton has been discontinued)
Yarn needle.
Rug measures 24” wide x 31” long without fringe.
GAUGE: 9 sts = 4”; 8 rows = 3” in pattern with larger hook and 2 strands held together. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Note: Work with 2 strands held together throughout.
With larger hook and 2 strands of A ch 71 loosely.Row 1 (Right Side): Draw up a loop in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook, * draw up a loop in same ch as last leg of last st and in next ch, yo and through all 3 loops on hook; repeat from * across; sc in same ch as last leg of last st; turn – 70 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, draw up a loop in first 2 sts, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook, * draw up a loop in same st as
last leg of last st and in next st, yo and through all 3 loops on hook; repeat from * across; sc in same st as last leg of last st changing to 1 strand A and 1 strand B at end of row; turn – 70 sts.
Rows 3-6: Using A and B together, repeat rows 1 and 2 twice changing to 2 strands of B in last sc of Row 6.
Rows 7-10: Repeat Rows 3-6 with 2 strands of B.
Rows 11-14: Repeat Rows 3-6 with A and B held together.
Rows 15-18: Repeat Rows 3-6 with 2 strands of A.
Rows 19-48: Repeat Rows 3-18 for color and pattern twice more.
Rows 49-52: Repeat Rows 3-6.
Rows 53-56: Repeat Rows 7-10.
Rows 57-60: Repeat Rows 11-14.
Rows 61-62: Repeat Rows 3-4.
At end of of last row turn and change to smaller hook and work 1 rnd sc evenly around rug working 3 sc in each corner; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Optional: Cut 7” lengths of A and knot into a fringe on each short end of rug. Trim.ABBREVIATIONS: ch = chain; dc = double crochet;
