Pineapple Scrubby Dishcloth Free Crochet Pattern

The pineapple is the symbol of welcoming and friendship. So it’s the perfect scrubby to keep you company and be a partner in cleaning up kitchen messes. The Scrubby Sparkle yarn gives a twinkle to your crochet stitches and is the ideal texture to help your dishes sparkle!

Materials:

RED HEART® Scrubby Sparkle™: 1 ball Lemon 8215 A, 1 ball Avocado 8690 B

Susan Bates Crochet Hook®: 5.5mm [US I-9]

Yarn needle

Gauge/Tension:     13 dc = 4″ (10 cm) and 13 rows dc = 8″ (20 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Dishcloth measures: 5″ (12.5 cm) wide x 9″ (23 cm) long (including Leaves)

Special Technique

Join half double crochet with slip knot: Place a slip knot on the hook, yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch, draw up a loop, pull yarn through 2 loops and slip knot to complete stitch.

DISHCLOTH

With A, ch 12; turn.

Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs count as dc here and throughout), dc in each ch across;

turn—10 dc.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of last 2 dc; turn—12 dc.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of last 2 dc; turn—14 dc.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in each of next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each of last 7 dc, turn—15 dc.

Row 5: Ch 3, dc in each dc across; turn—15 dc.

Row 6: Ch 3, dc in each of next 6 dc, dc2tog, dc in each of last 6 dc; turn—14 dc.

Row 7: Ch 3, dc in each of next 5 dc, dc2tog, dc in each of last 6 dc; turn—13 dc.

Row 8: Ch 3, dc in each of next 4 dc, dc3tog, dc in each of last 5 dc—11 dc.

Row 9: Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 dc, dc2tog, dc in each of next 2 sts, dc2tog, dc in each of last 2 dc; turn—9 dc.

Row 10: Ch 3, dc in each st across; turn—9 dc.

EDGE

Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc in each dc across top edge; 3 sc in corner; turn to work down first side, 2 sc around end of each Row (dc) to next corner; 4 sc in corner; turn to work along bottom edge, sc in each st across to next corner; 4 sc in corner; turn to work up other side, 2 sc around end of each Row to last corner; 3 sc in corner; slip st in top of beginning sc—(73 sc).

Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.

LEAVES

Row 1: Referring to photo for placement, join B with slip knot; hdc in 3rd ch from corner, dc in next sc, tr in next sc, dc in next sc, hdc in next sc; turn—5 sts.

Row 2: Ch 6, slip st in same st, ch 8, slip st in next st, ch 10, slip st in next st, ch 8, slip st in next st, ch 6, slip st in last st—(5 chained loops).

Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
