12” x 16” (30.5 x 40.5 cm) pillow form
Soft textured yarn in shades that remind us of the beauty of the Southwest are combined in this easy crochet pillow. Fringe is added to each end to add a trendy finish.
Gauge/Tension: GAUGE: 8 sc = 4” (10 cm); 8 rows = 4” (10 cm) in single crochet. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Pillow measures 18” wide x 12” long (45.5 x 30.5 cm).
Notes
1. Pillow cover is made from front and back panels worked in rows and then sewn together.
2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut old color.
Special Stitches
sc2tog = [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
sc3tog = [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop] 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
dc3tog = [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops] 3 times, yarn over, draw through all 4 loops on hook.
Special Technique
Join with sc = Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

With A, ch 38.
Row 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn—37 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2; change to B, turn.
Row 5: Repeat Row 2.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2; change to C, turn.
Row 7: Ch 1, *hdc in next st, dc in next st, 3 dc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st; repeat from * 4 times, hdc in next st, dc in next st, 3 dc in next st, dc in next st, skip next st, sc in last st, turn—6 sc, 11 hdc, and 30 dc.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next st, *3 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, sc3tog, sc in next 2 sts; repeat from * 3 times, 3 sc in next st, sc in next st, sc2tog; change to B, turn—47 sc.

Back Panel
With C, ch 38.
Row 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn—37 sc.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
Joining Round: Hold panels with wrong sides together and front panel facing; working through both thicknesses, join C
with sc in first st of last row, 2 sc in same st, 2 sc in next st, *skip next st, 2 sc in next st; repeat from * across to last st, 3 sc in last st; ***working in ends of rows, 2 sc in each even-numbered row*** down first side; working in opposite side of foundation ch, 3 sc in first ch, 2 sc in next ch, **skip next ch, 2 sc in next ch; repeat from ** across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; repeat from *** to *** up other side, inserting pillow form before completing round; join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Fringe
Attach fringe only across side edges.
Cut 28 strands of A, 12 strands of B, and 8 strands of C, each 10” (25.5 cm) long. Fold strand in half to form a loop. Insert crochet hook from front to back in end of same color row. Place fold on hook and draw fold through, forming a loop. Thread ends of strands through loop and pull to tighten.
Repeat to attach matching fringe in end of each row.
