Skill: Easy to Intermediate

Size:
About 11” wide, 8½” tall

Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Pink – 2 oz, 100 yd (60 g, 92 yd); Small amount White. (Sugar ‘n Cream – Rose Pink); Small amounts Black and White size 10 Thread and Steel No. 3 (2.10 mm) hook. (Optional – for eyes.)

Crochet Hook:
Size I-9 (5.50 mm) and F-5 (3.75 mm)

Gauge:
With I-hook – 3 sc = 1″, 3 sc rows = 1″.

Special Stitches

Single Crochet Decrease: (sc dec):
Draw up a lp in each of next 2 sts, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Starting at center, ch 2, 8 sc in 2ndch from hook. (8 sc) DO NOT JOIN. MARK BEG OF EACH ROUND.

Rnd 2:
2 sc in each sc around. (16 sc)

Rnd 3:
[Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (24 sc)

Rnd 4:
Sc in each sc around. (24 sc)

Rnd 5:
[Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (32 sc)

Rnd 6:
[Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (40 sc)

Rnd 7:
[Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (48 sc)

Rnd 8:
Sc in each sc around. (48 sc)

Rnd 9:
[Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (56 sc)

Rnd 10:
[Sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (64 sc)

Rnd 11:
[Sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around; join with sl st to first sc. (72 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

First Leg

Row 1:
With right sidefacing, ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc. (4 sc) Leave remaining sts unworked.

Rows 2-4:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (4 sc)

At end of Row 4, finish off and weave in ends.

Second Leg

Row 1:
With right sidefacing, skip next 8 sc, join with sc to next sc, sc in next 3 sc. (4 sc) Leave remaining sts unworked.

Rows 2-4:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (4 sc)

At end of Row 4, finish off and weave in ends.

Head

Row 1:
With right sidefacing, skip next 7 sc, join with sc to next sc, sc in next 7 sc. (8 sc) Leave remaining sts unworked.

Rows 2-3:
Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc] across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (10, 12 sc)

Row 4:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (12 sc)

Rows 5-8:
Ch 1, turn, sc dec, [sc in next sc] across to last 2 sc, sc dec. (10, 8, 6, 4 sc)

Row 9:
Ch 1, turn, [sc dec] twice. (2 sc)

Row 10:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (2 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging and Tail

Rnd 1:
Ch 1, turn (right side facing), sc in next 2 sc, working in sides of rows, sc in each row, working across back, sc in next 28 sc; with F-hook, ch 8, 3 sl st in 2ndch from hook, 3 sl st in next 6 ch (Tail made);with I-hook, sc in each remaining sc and rows around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Ear

With right sidefacing, skip next 8 sc, join yarn with sl st to next sc, ch 2, keeping last lp of each dc on hook, work 2 dc in same sc, yo, pull through all 3 lps on hook. Finish off and weave in ends.

Eyes

Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Starting at center, with White Thread and hook, ch 2, (sc, 5 dc, sc) in 2ndch from hook. Finish off leaving long end.

– Using long end, sew Eye to Head.

– With Black thread, embroider pupil in Eye.

Bow

With White, ch 50, Finish off and weave in ends.

– Thread Bow around 2 sts in last round and tie in bow.

    I loved this cute design. It made up quickly and easily. The tail is what makes it!
