Size: About 9” wide and 12” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Yellow- 2 oz, 100 yd (60 g, 92 m) Small amount Multicolor (for Beak) (I Love This Cotton – Buttercup # 12, Tuscany # 272) Small amount Blue Embroidery Floss (for Eye) Embroidery Needle
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Gauge: 3 sc = 1″, 4 sc rows = 1″.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Single Crochet Decrease: (sc dec): Draw up a lp in each of next 2 sts, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, with Yellow, ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (14 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (14 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (16 sc)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (16 sc)
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (18 sc)
Rows 6-11: Rep Rows 4-5 three times. (20, 22, 24 sc)
Rows 12-16: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (24 sc)
Row 17: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (26 sc)

Cloth Edging
Rnd 1: With right side facing, working in unused lps of starting ch, join Yellow with sc to first ch, evenly sc around whole Cloth; join with sl st to first sc.
Wing
Row 1: (Right Side) With Yellow, ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (8 sc)
Rows 2-3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, (sc in next sc) across. (7 sc)
Row 5: Ch 2, turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next sc) across to last 2 sc, sc dec. (7 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (7 sc)
Row 7: Ch 2, turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next sc) across to last 2 sc, sc dec. (7 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Wing Edging
Row 1: With right side facing, working in sides of rows, join Yellow with sc to first row, evenly sc around Wing to end of Row 1 (not working across starting ch). Finish off and weave in ends.
Beak
Row 1: With right side facing, join Mulicolor with sc to sc (at end of Row 33), sc in next 2 sc (at ends of Rows 34 & 35). (3 sc) Leave remaining sts unworked.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in next sc. (2 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc dec. (1 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing – use photo as guide
– With right sides facing, sew Wing to Cloth at Row 17.
– Using Embroidery Floss and Needle, embroider Eye to front of Dishcloth.
