Skill: Easy
Size: About 10” square.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Multicolor – 2 oz, 110 yd (57 g, 100 m) (Sugar ‘n Cream – Over The Rainbow)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Gauge: 1 patt (dc, Shell, dc) = 2”, 3 patt rows = 2″.
Special Stitches
Front Post Double Crochet: (FPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the FPdc.
Back Post Double Crochet: (BPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st in front of the BPdc.
Shell: (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in st or sp indicated.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) Ch 34, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (33 sc)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc, [Shell in next sc, skip next 2 sc, dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc] across, ending Shell in next sc, skip next 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc. (8 dc, 5 Shells)
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, FPdc in next dc, [Shell in next Shell, FPdc in next dc] across, dc in last dc.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, BPdc in next dc, [Shell in next Shell, BPdc in next dc] across, dc in last dc.
Rows 5-14: Rep Rows 3-4 five times.
Row 15: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 dc, ch 2, [sc in next Shell, ch 2, sc in next dc, ch 2] across, sc in last dc.
Row 16: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, [2 sc in ch-2 sp, sc in next sc] across, sc in last sc. (33 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, (right side facing), 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 31 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * working is sides of rows, 2 sc in each dc row, 1 sc in of each sc row *, working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in first ch, sc in next 31 ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *, sc in next sc; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 18: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
