Memorial Day weekend also marks the beginning of summer and vacations. It’s a great time to work with cotton crochet yarn or thread vs. acrylic. Smaller designs or motifs are better projects while you’re on the run. I am already thinking about what crochet projects to bring on my trip to Las Vegas in 2 weeks.

Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Green – 2 oz, 100 yd (60 g, 90 yd) (Bernat Cottontots)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Special Stitches
Popcorn (PC): Work 5 dc in st or sp indicated, remove hook, insert hook front to back in first dc made, pull dropped lp through.
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring; ch 1, sc in ring, [ch 3, 3 sc in ring] 3 times, ch 3, 2 sc in ring; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch 3), 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, skip next sc, PC in next (center) sc, ch 1, [(2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next sp, ch 1, skip next sc, PC in next (center) sc, ch 1] around, ending with dc in first sp; join with sl st to first dc.
Rnd 3: Sl st to ch-3 sp, ch 6, 2 dc in same sp, [ch 1, PC in next ch-1 sp] twice, ch 1, * (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next corner sp, [ch 1, PC in next ch-1] twice; rep from * around, ending with dc in first sp; join with sl st to first dc.
