#178 Watermelon Crochet Dishcloth – Maggie Weldon Maggies Crochet

MONDAY JUNE 27, 2011

Designer Dorothy Schmick wrote: “I have been crocheting for a long time, not sure how many years, as I have done it off and on. I have found crocheting to be very relaxing. Plus you get to make neat things for yourself and others. I like to crochet afghans, scarfs and small items. One evening I was eating watermelon and I thought, HEY!! I could make a watermelon dishcloth. I thought about seeds, but I was eating a seedless watermelon so I made it seedless. You could add seeds if you like. I made it with 4 ply acrylic yarn. Someone said it has extra scrubbing power and dries faster. You could use 4 ply cotton yarn also if you wanted. I designed this pattern myself so I hope I did it right.”

Thank you Dorothy for joining the Dishcloth-A-Day Challenge.

I really like this pattern, my choice of how to complete would be to turn after each round, I think that’s supposed to make the rounds come out “more Round” and without the “Bumps”when you increase. Just a thought. I will be trying out the pattern with turns later today.
