Skill: Easy
Size: About 9½” square.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Off-White – 1½ oz, 75 yds (45 g, 68 m); Green – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 45 m); Brown – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m); Yellow – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Dishcloth
Row 1: (Right Side) With Off-White, ch 22, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (21 sc)
Rows 2-22: Ch 1, turn, working in sc, follow chart making necessary color changes with Brown and Green.
Rows 23-25: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
At the end of Row 25, DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, (right side facing), * working in sides of rows, sc in next 23 rows *; working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in first ch, [sc in next ch] across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *; working in Row 25, 3 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc] across to last sc, 3 sc in last sc, join with sl st to first sc. (108 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Yellow with sc to center sc of any corner 3-sc group, ch 2, sc in same sc, [sc in next sc] around, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in center sc of each corner 3-sc group; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Off-White with sc to any ch-2 sp, ch 2, sc in same sp, [sc in next sc] around, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch-2 sps; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 4: With right side facing, join Green with sl st to any ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same sp, [dc in next sc] around, working (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in each corner ch-2 sp; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends.
STAR
Rnd 1: Starting at center, with Yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, draw up a lp same st as joining, draw up lp in next sc, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook, ch 1, sl st in side of row, * draw up a lp same st as last lp, draw up lp in next sc, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook, ch 1, sl st in side of row; rep from * around; join. Finish off leaving long end.
– With right side facing, using long end, sew Star to top of Tree.
