#314 Tractor “John Deere” Dishcloth – Maggie Weldon Maggies Crochet

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 10, 2011

Designer Linda K Kahle wrote: “I design this Tractor in Honor of a Group called “Power from the Past” from the Arizona chapter here in Tucson.  These people have and use Tractors (very old and new ones), steam engines. They have tractor pulls and many other things. And it’s not just the men we have several ladies that have tractors of their very own. They called it a family thing. We have a building at the Fair ground here in Tucson. Called the Barn, that shows off items from the past. Telephone, kitchen, bedroom, we have lots of old toys, and dishes. You can lose yourself in the past. This is what happen: I had enter this Challenge and made a Red Hat and a Cactus, and was making a school bus. When I had to go out to the Fair grounds and sign up to work in the Barn. Was telling some of the ladies that I was making a school bus and of course they wanted to see it. One of the ladies said.. “What about a Tractor?” So to that I said… Hold that thought. I’ll see what I can come up with.  The fair was the next week. When home that night I started on trying to come up with a Tractor. And this is what I came up with. Hope you all have fun making this Tractor. This is a John Deere.

Thank you Linda for joining the Dishcloth-A-Day Challenge!

We just got our 5 yr. old nephew a John Deere Gator toy yesterday. He has a lot of John Deere tractor toys and a John Deere Gator that he rides around between our houses. I must make this washcloth for him. Thanks for such a neat pattern.

My sister is a great fan of John Deere products. One year for Christmas, my other sister made her a set of “stuff” for the kitchen – out of John Deere fabric. This year I believe I will make her this dishcloth!!!
