Yarn needle
Shawl is 11” wide x 52” long.
Gauge: 3 pattern repeats = 4”; 18 rows = 4”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Special Stitches

cluster: [Yo, insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook] 3 times in same st, yo, draw through 4 loops on hook.
SHAWL

Ch 310.

Row 1 (wrong side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 3, skip next 3 ch, sc in next ch; repeat from * across; turn—77 ch-3 spaces.

Row 2 (right side): Ch 1, sc in first sc; *ch 3, cluster in next sc, ch 3, sc in next sc; repeat from * across to last sc, ending with dc in last sc; turn—38 clusters.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first dc, *ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3, sc in next cluster; repeat from * across to last sc, ch 3, sc in last sc; turn.

Row 4: Ch 6 (counts as dc, ch 3), skip first sc, sc in next sc, *ch 3, cluster in next sc, ch 3, sc in next sc, repeat from * across; turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in fist sc, *ch 3, sc in next cluster, ch 3, sc in next sc; repeat from * across, ending with sc in 3rd ch of turning chain, turn.Repeat rows 2-5 until piece measures 10”, ending with Row 5 of pattern. Do not fasten off.FINISHING

Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 1, working across top edge of shawl, sc in first sc, *(3 sc in next ch-3 space, sc in next sc) across to next corner, 3 sc in next corner st, sc evenly down side of shawl to next corner st, 3 sc in next corner st, working across bottom edge, (3 sc in next ch-3 space, sc in ch at base of next sc) across to next corner st, 3 sc in next corner st, sc evenly across side edge to next corner, 2 sc in corner sc; join with slip st in first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, working in back loops of sts, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in each corner st; join with slip st in first sc.

Rnd 3: *Ch 1, slip st in next st; repeat from * around, join with slip st in first slip st. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Block to final measurements.
