RED HEART® “Super Saver®”: 1 ball 368 Paddy Green, 321 Gold or 376 Burgundy.Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9]
Yarn needle, Four ½” beads per coaster.
Each Coaster is 4” square.
GAUGE: 12 sc = 4”; 15 rows = 4”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
COASTER
Ch 13.
Row 1:
Sc in 4th ch from hook, [dc in next ch, sc in next ch] 4 times, dc in last ch.
Row 2:
Ch 3, turn, [sc in next sc, dc in next dc] 4 times, sc in next sc, dc in top of beginning ch.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 3” from beginning.
Edging Round:
Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), turn, [hdc in next dc, ch 1] 4 times across to last st, (hdc, ch 3, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, hdc) all in last st, turn to work along side edge, [ch 1, hdc] 4 times evenly spaced along edge, ch 1, turn to work opposite foundation ch, (hdc, ch 3, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, hdc) all in first st, ch 1, [hdc in next dc, ch 1] 4 times across to last st, (hdc, ch 3, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, hdc) all in last st, turn to work along side edge, [ch 1, hdc] 4 times evenly spaced along edge, ch 1, (hdc, ch 3, slip st in 2nd ch from hook) in same space as beginning ch, ch 1, slip st to 2nd ch of beginning ch to join.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends. For corner tassels, thread two strands of yarn into yarn needle. Insert into corner, thread all four ends through bead, knot ends close to bead. Trim ends.

This is a great site, especially since I’m a beginner in crochet. I like to quilt, sew, loom knit, plastic canvas, I guess it’s not really in right now, but enjoy things I can. Not too difficult though, I’ll become inpatient. Currently I’m working on crochet, endeavoring to become pretty good at the easy level.
