3-dc Cl (3 double crochet cluster) = Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops (2 loops remain on hook), [yarn over, insert hook in SAME stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops] twice, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
dc2tog (double crochet 2 sts together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 2 times, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
dc3tog (double crochet 3 sts together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
BLANKET
With A, ch 117.
Row 1 (Wrong side): Dc in 4th ch from hook (beginning ch counts as first dc) and each ch across; turn – 115 sts.
Row 2 (Right side): Ch 1, hdc in first st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, hdc in next st; repeat from * across; turn – 58 hdc, 57 ch-1 spaces.
Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in each st and each ch-1 space across; turn – 115 sts.
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), dc in first st, ch 3, 3-dc Cl in top of st just made, skip next st, *dc3tog over the next 3 sts, ch 3, 3-dc Cl in top of st just made; repeat from * to last 2 sts, dc2tog; turn – 2 dc, 38 3-dc Cl, 37 dc3tog, 1 dc2tog.
Row 5: Ch 3, dc in first st, 3 dc in each dc3tog across, 2 dc in last st, turn – 115 sts.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off.
Row 7: With wrong side facing, join B with slip st in first st, ch 3, * dc in next ch-1 space, dc in next st; repeat from * across; turn – 115 sts.

BORDER
Round 1: With right side facing, join C with slip st in last st, ch 1, 3 hdc in corner; hdc evenly across side of afghan (Note: Designer recommends working 2 hdc around ends of dc rows, 1 hdc around end of 3-dc Cl rows, and 1 hdc around ends of hdc rows), 3 hdc in corner; working across opposite side of foundation ch, hdc in each ch across, 3 hdc in corner; hdc evenly across next side of afghan, 3 hdc in corner; hdc in each st and ch-1 space across last row of afghan; join with slip at in first st. Do not turn.
Round 2: (Ch 3, 3-dc Cl) in first st, *skip next st, sc in next st, ch 3, 3-dc Cl in last sc made; repeat from * around; join with slip st in base of first ch-3. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
