In this sunny day dishcloth I used a technique called Chained Overlay or Tambour Lace.
Tambour lace refers to lace that is made by stretching a fine net over a frame and crocheting a chain stitch using a fine hook to reach through the net from right to wrong side and draw the working thread which is held on the wrong side, through the net to the right side.
Here are the directions for Chain Overlay..
Make a slip knot. With right side of work facing you, and yarn held behind work, insert hook from front to back into desired stitch, pick up slip knot and bring it through to the right side of work, insert hook from front to back through next stitch, draw up a loop from the wrong side to the right side. Continue as established being careful to keep an even relaxed tension.
When I designed this dishcloth I was snowed in. I had sunshine on my mind. I tried several variations of the face. I think this can be improved upon. Please send pictures if you come up with a better face.
