#54 Cherry Crochet Dishcloth

Back to the care of dishcloths – Dodi wrote: “Be sure to rinse the washcloth thoroughly before letting it dry. The smell comes from debris still in the threads.”

Jackie K wrote: “I like to use baking soda for that sour smell in dishrags or towels… just pour some in the washer or soak in the sink for a few minutes… takes the odor right out… always squeeze as much water out as you can and hang them up to dry.. I like to put mine on the oven door when I am cooking it dries them quickly…

Thank you for all of these great ideas for the care of dishcloths.

This one turns out really pretty! Of course, it sat in my sewing basket for a bit….but it was easy to follow and worked up well. I did the stems a little bit differently… crocheting them right onto the square… but am tickled with the end result!

I could not get the row counts correct on this. It goes from 84 in row 6 to 104 in row 7…but you are only adding 4 to each side…so that’s 16 + 84 = 100. Then round 8 jumps to 120… I made it and put in some extra DC to make it correct, am I wrong on this? Very cute by the way!

I loved this pattern. I have made it twice. Now, I am looking for a way to make a variety of fruits, not just cherries, for a set!
