#138 Shell Loop Crochet Dishcloth – Maggie Weldon Maggies Crochet

Designer Carol Showers wrote: “Crocheting is a comfort to me and I enjoy making gifts for family and friends. One year I didn’t make very many dishcloths to take to the Family Reunion and two of my sister-in-laws were very disappointed. “What, no new dishcloths this year?” Needless to say, now I take 30-40 dishcloths with me. I also like buying Bernat Cotton as it comes in 14 oz skeins since it is so much less expensive. I finally found it again at Joann.com.”Carol – Thank you for joining the crochet Dishcloth-a-Day Challenge wth your lovely design.

thanks very much for this so simple pattern i made a very pretty rose today if you read this you can get the simple pattern
you chain forty eight what ever color SINGLE OR DOUBLE STRAND verigated even looks very pretty what ever size hook you want the size of the flower is determined by the hook size…
after chaining 48 sc in 46th chain all the way back (but i did hdc) you turn and chain two sc in next and skip the next stitch hole and work dc chain one four times in same hole skip again and work sc… do this about eleven times and finish off pull tight AFTER YOU CUT A FOOT OF YARN then put that yarn in a LARGE EYE NEEDLE and YOU NEED TO ROLL UP THE peice so that it looks like a rose with peddels and you sew it i make the chain lime up with the bottom all the way across… and then i sew the yarn all the way threw from one side to another and also i make a nother stitch a stitch away back and forth all the way around the rose BOTTOM… i then make a green metal rose STEM GO THROUGH IT from top to bottom YOU MAKE THE STEM AS LARGE AS YOU WANT IT you can put them seperately in a container or BRAID them so that it will stay in…the container… dh says to make a flower wrap tape around them so that they will look like real flower stems
you could also make them with brown tape…i folded my stems up today to six or longer INCHES…
