Witch’s Hat Dishcloth

Size: About 13” wide and 11” tall.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn:
Black – 1½ oz, 73 yds (45 g, 69 m); Small amount Orange (Peaches & Crème – Black, Sunburst)
Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at top, with Black, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook. (1 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in sc (3 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (3 sc)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc. (5 sc)
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (5 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. (7 sc)
Rows 7-28: Rep Rows 5 – 6.
At the end of Row 28, there are 29 sc.
Rows 29-31: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (29 sc)
At the end of Row 31, DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging and Brim of Hat:
Rnd 1: Ch 1, DO NOT TURN, sc in side of each row up to the tip, 3 sc in tip, sc in side of each row down to the brim; working along brim, 3 hdc in first sc, [hdc in next sc] across to last sc, 3 hdc in last sc; join with sl st to first sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in next 2 hdc, [hdc in next hdc] across to last 2 hdc, 2 hdc in last 2 hdc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 hdc in next 3 hdc, [hdc in next hdc] across to last 3 hdc, 2 hdc in last 3 hdc sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Brim Trim: With right side facing, using Orange yarn threaded in tapestry needle, run over and under sts of Row 31 of Hat and secure at both ends on wrong side of hat.
