#226 Burgundy Dress Crochet Dishcloth – Maggie Weldon Maggies Crochet

SUNDAY AUGUST 14, 2011

Designer Patricia Hall wrote: “I taught myself to crochet from lessons offered by Annie’s Attic in the late ‘70s. She bought my 1st design in ’82 or ’83. It was a granny square butterfly. I added an edge in size 10 thread. My first project to mix yarn and thread. My 1st booklet was with the Needlecraft Shop – English Garden Potholders. I came across your challenge and thought you might like this dress. I haven’t designed much in the last few years for anyone but love to crochet. I enjoy making hats and afghans for family and friends. Your website is great.”

Thank you Patricia for joining the Dishcloth-A-Day Challenge.

I love this Dress.. what size doll would it fit… What about PINEAPPLES I love them there’s so many things I want to do with PINEAPPLES… I’d like to make a butterfly I saw with them and sew it into a top & cut out the material so it’s like a window… Also trim like a Collar, towel trim, pillow case ETC… AnnT Chg entreat2@yahoo.com

My grandmother crocheted these dresses as potholder in a variegated cotton yarn. I remember playing with them back in the 1950’s, wishing I had a doll to put them on. I’d always wished I could have had one of hers but now I can crochet my own! Thanks so much for dress patterns!
