Size: About 10½” round.
Materials: Crochet Cotton Size 10: Blue – 100 yds (92 m)(Aunt Lydia’s Classic Size 10 Mercerized Cotton Thread)
Crochet Hook: Size Steel Number 0 (3.25 mm)
SPECIAL STITCHES:
Beginning V stitch (beg v-st): Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), dc in same st or sp indicated.
V stitch (v-st): (Dc, ch 1, dc) in same st or sp indicated.
DISHCLOTH:
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, ch 5; join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1, now and throughout), [dc in ring, ch 1] 9 times; join with sl st to first dc. (10 dc and 10 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first sp, beg v-st in same sp, ch 1, [v-st in next sp, ch 1] around; join as before. (20 dc and 20 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first sp, ch 4, v-st in next v-st, ch 1, [dc in next sp, ch 1, v-st in next v-st, ch 1] around; join as before.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first sp, ch 4, * v-st in next v-st, ch 1, [dc in next sp, ch 1] twice; rep from * around, ending v-st in next v-st, ch 1, dc in last sp, ch 1; join as before.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first ch-1 sp, ch 4, dc in next sp, ch 1, * v-st in next v-st, ch 1, [dc in next sp, ch 1] across to corner; rep from * around, ending v-st in next v-st, ch 1, dc in last ch-sp, ch 1; join as before.
Rnds 6-13: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first ch-1 sp, ch 4, [dc in next sp, ch 1] across to corner, * v-st in next v-st, ch 1, [dc in next sp, ch 1] across to corner; rep from * around, ending v-st in next v-st, ch 1, [dc in last ch-sp, ch 1] across to end; join as before.
At the end of Rnd 13, DO NOT TURN.
Rnd 14: Ch 1, sl st in next sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same sp, [2 dc in next sp] around; join as before.
Rnd 15: DO NOT TURN. Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same st as joining, skip next 3 dc, [(sc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next dc, skip next 3 dc] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

I love crocheting in thread. I enjoy making doilies but they don’t get much use in my house, so it’s great to see this thread dishcloth. Thank you, I’m definitely going to try this.

There is something so simple and classic about this design that it just calls to you. It caught my eye and i kept coming back to it. I really like this design.
