Black Tie Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size: About 10” wide and 8” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Black – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m) (I Love This Cotton)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Special Stitches
Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st or sp indicated.
Reverse Single Crochet (rev-sc): Working from left to right, insert hook in next st to right, pull up a loop, yo, draw through both loops on hook.
DISHCLOTH:
Row 1: (Right Side) Ch 34, hdc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped ch count as first hdc), [hdc in next ch] across. (33)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc and ch 1), turn, skip next hdc, hdc in next hdc, [ch 1, skip next hdc, hdc in next hdc] across. (17 hdc and 16 ch-1 sps)
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, [hdc in next ch, hdc in next hdc] across. (33)
Row 4-19: Rep Rows 2-3, eight times.
At end of Row 19, finish off and weave in ends.
KNOT
Cut a 48” piece of yarn and thread in large tapestry needle. Double and tie knot at ends. With right side of dishcloth facing and starting at bottom in the center stitch (17th hdc from either end), hide knot on wrong side, bringing the needle through to the right side, weave through center stitch of each row. Pull thread to gather slightly, making Bow shape, turn to back side and run thread through some of the stitches on back. Wrap the thread around the tie, two times and secure at middle of back. Finish off and weave in ends.
