Red Roof Birdhouse Dishcloth

Size: About 8½” wide and 9” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: White – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m) Black – ½ oz, 25 yds (15 g, 23 m) Red- ½ oz, 25 yds (15 g, 23 m) (I Love This Cotton) Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Special Stitches
Half Double Decrease (hdc dec): [Yo hook, draw up lp in next st], twice, yo and pull through all lps on hook.
Triple Half Double Decrease (3-hdc dec): [Yo hook, draw up lp in next st] 3 times, yo, pull through all lps on hook.
DISHCLOTH:
Row 1: (Right Side) With Black, ch 30, hdc in 3rd st from hook (skipped ch count as first hdc), [hdc in next ch] across. Finish off and weave in ends. (29 hdc)
Row 2: With right side facing, join White with sl st to 2nd hdc, ch 1, hdc in same st, [hdc in next hdc] across to last hdc. Leave remaining hdc unworked. (27 hdc)
Row 3–5: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each hdc across. (27 hdc)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc dec, [hdc in next hdc] across to last 3 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in last hdc. (25 hdc)
Row 7: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each hdc across. (25 hdc)
Row 8-13: Rep Rows 6-7 three times. (23, 21, 19 hdc)
Row 14: Rep Row 6. (17 hdc)
Rows 15-16: Ch 1, turn, hdc in first hdc, [hdc dec] twice, [hdc in next hdc] across to last 5 hdc, [hdc dec] twice, hdc in last hdc. (13, 9 hdc)
Row 17: Ch 1, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc dec, [hdc in next hdc] across to last 3 hdc, hdc dec, hdc in last hdc. (7 hdc)
Row 18: Ch 1, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc dec, hdc in next hdc, hdc dec, hdc in last hdc. (5 hdc)
Row 19: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec (in first 2 hdc), hdc in next hdc, hdc dec (in last 2 hdc). (3 hdc)
Row 20: Ch 1, turn, 3-hdc dec. (1 hdc) Finish off and weave in ends.
ROOF
With right side facing, join Red with sl st on right side of Row 11, ch 2, work 15 hdc evenly spaced to top of house, 3 hdc in top st, work 16 hdc down left side ending in Row 11. Finish off and weave in ends.
HOLE
With Black, ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hook; join with sl st in top of ch-3. Finish off leaving 12″ long end for sewing.
Finishing – use photo as guide.
– With right sides facing, using long end, sew Hole in center of dishcloth between bottom of Row 9 and top of Row 12.
– Using Red and yarn needle, embroider ‘smile’ centered under Hole.
