Size: About 9½” diameter
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: White – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 45 m) Yellow – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 45 m) (Peaches & Creme – White, Yellow) Plastic scourer. Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st or sp indicated.
Shell #2: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same st or sp indicated.
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) With White, starting with an 18” tail, ch 36, taking care not to twist chain, join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 1, 2 sc in first ch, sc in next 2 ch, (2 sc in next ch, sc in next 2 ch) 11 times; join with sl st to first sc. (48 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st as joining, skip 3 sc, (Shell in next sc, skip 3 sc) 11 times. (12 Shells)
Rnd 3: Sl st to ch-2 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, ch 2, (Shell in next Shell, ch 2) 11 times; join with sl st to first dc. (12 Shells)
Rnd 4: Sl st to ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp, ch 2, (Shell #2 in next Shell, ch 2) 11 times; join with sl st to first dc. (12 Shells) Finish off and weave in ends.
Edging
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Yellow with sc to any ch-2 sp between Shells, * sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in ch-2 sp of Shell, sc in next 3 dc, sc in ch-2 sp (between Shells), ch 2, sc in ch-2 sp of Rnd 3, ch 2, sc in sp between Shells of Rnd 2, ch 2, sc in center sc of skipped 3-sc of Rnd 1, ch 2, sc in sp between Shells of Rnd 2, ch 2, sc in ch-2 sp of Rnd 3, ch 2, sc in ch-2 sp of Rnd 4; rep from * around, omitting last sc on final repeat; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
– Using yarn needle and starting tail, sew center of Dishcloth around outer edge of Plastic scourer.
