Note: The Directions are written for Misses S-L, with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn Lt. Blue – 7 ½ (8 ½, 9 ½) oz, 372 (422, 472) yds [200 (228, 256) grams, 300 (380, 460) meters)] Yarn Needle Model made with TLC® Cotton Plus.
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 2 shells & Rnds 1-5 = 4”
Gauge Swatch: 4” x 4”
Row 1: Ch 15, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (13 dc)
Rows 2-7: Ch 3, dc in next dc and in each dc across. (13 dc) Finish off at the end of Row 7.
Note: If your swatch is larger or smaller than specified, make another, changing hook size to get the correct gauge. If your swatch is too small, use a larger hook. If your swatch is too large, use a smaller hook. Keep trying until you find the size hook that will give you the specified gauge.
Special Stitches
Cluster Stitch (cl-st): keeping last lp of each st on hook, 3 dc in same ch, YO and draw through 4 lps on hook
V-Stitch (v-st): (dc, ch 2, dc) in same st or space
Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st or space
Directions
Rnd 1: Ch 84 (90, 96). being careful not to twist ch sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), keeping last lp of each st on hook, 2 dc in same ch as joining, YO and draw through 3 lps on hook (beg cluster made), ch 1, skip next ch, (cl-st in next ch, ch 1, skip next ch) 41 (44, 47) times; join with sl st to beg cl. [42 (45, 48) cl-sts]
Rnd 2: Sl st in next sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, (ch 5, sc in next ch-1 sp) 41 (44, 47) times; end, ch 2, join with dc to first sc to form last ch-5 sp. [42 (45, 48) ch-5 sps]
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sp formed by joining, (ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp) 41 (44, 47) times; end, ch 2, join with dc to first sc to form last ch-5 sp. [42 (45, 48) ch-5 sps]
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same sp formed by joining, 7 dc in next sp, sc in next sp, * ch 5, sc in next sp, 7 dc in next sp, sc in next sp, rep from * around; end ch 2, join with dc to first sc to form last ch-5 sp. [14 (15, 16) groups of 7 dc]
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same sp formed by joining, ch 1, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 7 times, * sc in next sp, ch 1, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 7 times, rep from * around; join with sl st to first sc. [112 (120, 128) ch-1 sps and 98 (105, 112) dc]

Rnd 18 (21, 24): Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 6 dc, * (2 dc, ch 5, sl st in last dc worked, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 6 dc, rep from * around; end, 2 dc in first ch-2 sp, ch 5, sl st in last dc worked; join with sl st to first dc. [28 (30, 32) shells and ch-5 sps] Finish off and weave in ends.
