#67 Sunshine & Cool Breeze Crochet Dishcloth

Designer Kathleen Wrote: “I have been crocheting for about 40 years. I must’ve been about 7 or 8 years old when my grandmother first taught me how to make Granny Squares.  She could never read a pattern.  She learned how to make new things by someone showing her or by copying from the original.  I still remember the Granny Square vests she made for all her many granddaughters when I was a kid.  Two huge Granny Squares that she connected with sides and straps.  We all had afghans she made too”.

“I taught myself to read patterns and tried to teach her, but she never did get it. Over the years, I built on what she taught me, learning new stitches from patterns and books and now the internet. I crochet for gifts, donations for my children’s school fund raisers, other charities and I even try to sell a few things. I like to experiment with new stitches and ideas like adding beads to a pattern or changing it in other ways or using a stitch motif from one pattern to create something else”.

Thank you Kathleen for this beautiful addition to our Dishcloth-a-Day Challenge.

I really enjoyed watching this one take shape….. unusual color choices but reminds me of a beautiful spring morning…. I didn’t have the same yarns…. but used a yellow variegated for the base & a clear blue for the spokes – turned out great!
