Waffle Ice Cream Dishcloth

Skill: Easy to Intermediate
Size: About 7” wide and 10” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Beige – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m); Variegated Pink; Brown (Sugar ‘n Cream – Ecru, Pinky Stripes, Warm Brown); Yarn Needle.
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
Gauge: 6 dc = 2″, 3 dc rows = 2″.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

Special Stitches
Front Post Double Crochet: (FPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the FPdc.
Back Post Double Crochet: (BPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st in front of the BPdc.
Front Post Double Crochet Decrease (FPdc dec): [Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up a lp, yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice, yo and draw through all lps on hook.
Back Post Double Crochet Decrease (BPdc dec): [Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up a lp, yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice, yo and draw through all lps on hook.

Ice-Cream
Row 1: (Right Side) Starting with Ice Cream, with Pinks, ch 3, 7 dc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc). (8 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, [2 dc in next dc] across. (16 dc)
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc] across. (24 dc)
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 2 dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc] across. (32 dc)
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 3 dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc] across. (40 dc) Rotate piece and working in sides of rows, ch 1, 2 sc in next 5 rows, sc in center ch, 2 sc in next 5 rows; join (21 sc). Finish off Pink and weave in ends.
Row 6: With right side facing, working in dc sts only on Row 5, join Brown with sc to first dc, (ch 2, 2 dc) in same dc, skip next dc, [(sc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next dc, skip next dc] across to last dc, sc in last dc. Finish off Brown and weave in ends.
Cone
Row 1: With right side of Ice Cream facing, working in sc row, join Beige with sc to first sc, [sc in next sc] across. (21 sc)
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (21 sc)
Row 5: Sl st in first 2 sc, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in next 17 dc. (18 dc) Leave remaining sts unworked.
Row 6: Ch 3, turn, FPdc in next 2 dc, [BPdc in next 3 dc, FPdc in next 3 dc] twice, BPdc in next 2 dc, dc in last dc. (18 dc)
Row 7: Ch 3, turn, BPdc in next 2 dc, [FPdc in next 3 dc, BPdc in next 3 dc] twice, FPdc in next 2 dc, dc in last dc. (18 dc)
Rows 8-9: Rep Rows 6-7 once.
Row 10: Rep Row 6.
Row 11: Ch 3, turn, BPdc dec over next 2 dc, [ FPdc in next 3 dc, BPdc in next 3 dc] twice, FPdc dec over next 2 dc, dc in last dc. (16 dc)
Row 12: Ch 3, turn, FPdc in next dc, [BPdc in next 3 dc, FPdc in next 3 dc] twice, BPdc in next dc, dc in last dc. (16 dc) Finish off Beige and weave in ends.
Cone Edging
With right side facing, working in sides of rows, join Beige with sl st to end Row 1, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 rows, 3 sc in next row, 2 sc in next 8 rows; working in Row 12, 3 sc in first dc, sc in next 14 dc, 3 sc in last dc; working in ends of rows, 2 sc in next 8 rows, 3 sc in next row, sc in next 3 rows. Finish off and weave in ends.
