Basket Weave Rug – Free Crochet Pattern

It’s always nice to have plenty or throw rugs for every floor in your house.  At the foot of your bed a throw rug helps to keep your feet warm as they hit the floor.

This rug will work up fast with a double strand of bulky weight yarn and large crochet hook.  Beginners will find this a super easy and quick project to create.

If you plan on using this rug on bare tile or wood floors I highly recommend getting a rubber rug backing and attaching it to the back.  This will keep it from slipping.

Hi Maggie! I love your patterns & have bought quite a few over the years. My question is, where do you buy the rubber backing for handmade rugs & what do you ask for? I’m working on the above rug pattern as we speak but I do want to make it slip-proof cuz I’m an amputee & really don’t want to fall! Keep up the good work with your lovely creations!

Please tell me what a long sc is? I have never heard of that and I have been crocheting for a very long time.
