Tradewinds Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size: About 9½” square.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: Off-White – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m); Pink – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m); Variegated – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m) (Sugar ‘n Cream – Soft Ecru, Mod Pink, Beach Ball Blue)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Popcorn: 5 dc in same st or sp indicated, drop lp from hook, insert hook in first dc of 5-dc group, pick up dropped lp and pull through st.
Beginning Shell (beg shell): Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same st of sp indicated.
Shell: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same st or sp indicated
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Pink, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring; ch 3, (pc, dc) in ring, ch 2; [(dc, pc, dc) in ring, ch 2] 3 times; join with sl st to first dc. (4 pc, 8 dc and 4 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Off-White with sl st in any corner ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, [shell in next ch-2 sp, ch 1] around; join. (4 shells, 4 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 3: Sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, [shell in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] around; join.
Rnd 4: Sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] twice, * shell in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] twice; rep from * around; join.
Rnd 5: Sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times, * shell in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 3 times; rep from * around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 6: With right side facing, join Pink with sl st to any corner ch-2 sp, ch 3, (pc, dc, ch 2; dc, pc, dc) in same sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 4 times, * (dc pc, dc, ch 2; dc, pc, dc) in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 4 times; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 7: With right side facing, join Off-White with sl st to any corner ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 5 times, * shell in next corner ch-2 sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] 5 times; rep from * around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Center Ruffle
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Variegated with sl st in back lp of any dc on Rnd 3, ch 3, sl st in front lp of same dc, ch 3, [sl st in back lp of next dc, ch 3, sl st in front lp of same dc, ch 3] around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off and weave in ends.
Border Ruffle
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Variegated with sc to any corner ch-2 sp, ch 3, [sc, ch 3] 3 times in same sp, [sc, ch 3] twice in each dc and ch-1 sp around, working [sc, ch 3] 4 times in each corner ch-2 sp; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

I just loved the outcome of this dish cloth. Thank you for sharing. My best friend will love this. I used Lily Sugar’n Cream: White, Camomile and Tumbleweed. I wish I could send a picture.
