V-Stitch Variation Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size: About 8½” wide by 9½” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: Variegated – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m)(Village Yarn Craft Cotton)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Special Stitches
V-Stitch (v-st): (Dc, ch 1, dc) in st or sp indicated.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) Ch 28, v-st in 5th ch from hook (skipped ch count as ch-1 and first dc), [skip next 2 ch, v-st in next ch] across to last 2 ch, skip next ch, dc in last ch. (8 v-sts and 2 dc)
Rows 2-4: Ch 3, turn, [v-st in next ch-1 sp] across, ending with dc in first dc.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp across. (26 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, working in front loops only, sc in each sc across.
Row 7: Ch 3, turn, working in both loops, skip next sc, v-st in next sc, [skip next 2 sc, v-st in next sc] across to last 2 sc, skip next sc, dc in last sc.
Rows 8-10: Rep Rows 2-4.
Rows 11-16: Rep Rows 5-10.
At the end of Row 16, DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn (right side facing), sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, [dc in next sc] around, working (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in each center sc of corner 3-sc group; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends.
