Fall Hexagon Dishcloth

Skill: Easy

Size: About 9” across (at widest point).

Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Orange – 1½ oz, 75 yds (45 g, 69 m); Brown – ½ oz, 25 yds (15 g, 23 m)(Peaches & Crème – Sunburst & I Love This Cotton)

 

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

Special Stitches:

Treble Crochet (tr):
[Yo hook] twice, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] 3 times.

Double Treble Crochet (dtr):
[Yo hook] 3 times, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] 4 times.

DISHCLOTH:

Rnd 1:
(Right Side) With Brown, ch 6, sl st in first ch to form ring; ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 2 dc in ring, ch 3, [3 dc in ring, ch 3] 5 times; join with sl st to first dc. (18 dc and 6 ch-3 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 2:
With right side facing, join Orange with sl st to any ch-3 sp, ch 5 (counts as first dtr), (2 dtr, ch 2, 3 dtr) in same sp, [(3 dtr, ch 2, 3 dtr) in each sp] around; join with sl st to first dtr. (36 dtr and 6 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 3:
With right side facing, join Brown with sl st to same st as joining, ch 3, dc in next 2 dtr, [(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 6 dtr] 5 times, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last ch-2 sp, dc in last 3 dtr; join with sl st to first dc. (60 dc and 6 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 4:
With right side facing, join Sunburst with sl st to any ch-2 sp, ch 4 (counts as first tr), 3 tr in same sp, tr in next 10 dc, [4 tr in next sp, tr in next 10 dc] around; join with sl st to first tr. (84 tr) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Rnd 5:
Ch 3, dc in last tr on Rnd 4 (making cross-stitch), [skip next tr, dc in next tr, dc in skipped tr] around; join with sl st to first dc. (42 x-sts) Finish off and weave in ends.

    Maggie ~~ I can hardbly believe it’s been almost a year since you started your Dish Cloth Challenge. I have enjoyed each and everyone of them.

    I used #72 to make a pillow for my bedroom. All I had to do was: follow instructions you posted for the dish cloth, continuing until I got the size I wanted, and add a nice little edging. It turned out really nice (because I had a nice pattern to begin with). If I knew how to post a picture of my pillow, I would. But, alas, I don’t know how to post a pic on your site.

    Again, just wanted to say “thank you” for all the lovely patterns you have provided.

    I could never afford to buy a web cam or a fancy phone to take pics. Thank-you for all the patterns,Maggie. I have made several gifts already ,using them.I also purchased the book,”Crazy Coasters!”
