Skill: Easy

Size: 8” wide x 96” long

Materials: Bulky Weight Yarn Black (A) – 7 oz, 331 yds (233 grams, 301 meters) Gray (B) & White (C) – 6 oz, 284 yds (200 grams, 258 meters) each Yarn Needle, Safety Pins. Patons® Divine was used for our model.

Crochet Hook: Size J-10 (6 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 5 sc & 5 sc rows = 2”

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Pattern

Long Strip (Make 6 of each color)

Row 1 (right side): Ch 41, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (40 sc)

Rows 2-5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (40 sc)

At the end of Row 5, finish off leave long end.

Short Strip (Make 12 of each color)

Row 1 (right side): Ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (20 sc)

Rows 2-5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (20 sc)

At the end of Row 5, finish off.

Assembly

Using Fig. 1 as a guide, with right sides facing, weave together 3 Long Strips of one color and 6 Short Strips of another color.

Pin Strips in place using Safety Pins.  Repeat, making 2 Blocks of each color combination.

Using Yarn Needle and long ends of Long Strips, and using Fig. 2 as a guide, sew short edges of Long Strips of Blocks together, making a Scarf 6 Blocks long.

Edging Rnd: With right side facing, working through both thicknesses when applicable now and throughout, join B with a sc in any corner before a long edge of Scarf,2 sc in same corner; * sc in each st across Long Strips, 3 sc in next corner, sc in each st across Short Strip, 3 sc in next corner, rep from * once more, omitting last corner of last rep; join with a sl st to first sc.  Finish off and weave in ends.
