Size: To fit Adult Women Head circumference = 21″-23½” Hat circumference = 17″-19″

Materials: Super Bulky Weight Yarn : Pink (MC) – 5 oz, 81 yd (140 g, 74 m) (Lion Brand Hometown USA – New Orleans French Berry) Bulky Weight Yarn : White (CC) – 2 oz, 62 yd (55 g, 56 m) (Lion Brand Homespun – Deco) Yarn Needle

Crochet Hook: Size K-10½ (6.50 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Special Stitches

Front Post Double Crochet: (FPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the FPdc.

 

Pattern

HAT

Rnd 1: (Right Side) With MC, ch 3; join with sl st to form ring; ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 11 dc in ring; join with sl st to first dc. (Join all dc-rnds in this manner) (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same dc as joining, [2 dc in next dc] around; join. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same dc as joining, dc in next dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc] around; join. (36 dc)

Rnds 4-9: Ch 3, [dc in next dc] around; join. (36 dc)

At the end of Rnd 9, finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 10: With right side facing, join CC with sc to any dc, FPdc in corresponding dc 2 rows below (Row 8), * sc in next dc, FPdc in corresponding dc 2 rows below (Row 8), rep from * around; join with sl st to first sc. (36 sts)

Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with sl st to first sc. (36 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.

    I just attempted to make this hat and I’m at row 9 and it looks like it could fit a premature baby. What am I doing wrong. I used the correct needle.
