Required Supplies:

RED HEART® Scrubby™: 3 balls 986 Blossom

Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8]

Yarn needle

Additional Supplies Needed:

Small amount of black yarn, 3” [7.5 cm] square of cardboard

Have fun in the tub with a crocheted bunny scrubby! We’ve included sizing for either an adult or child hands. The unique polyester yarn dries more quickly than cotton yarn between uses, and can be easily washed by machine.

Gauge/Tension:     GAUGE: Gauge is not critical for this project.

Mom’s Mitt is 9” [23 cm] tall and Child’s Mitt is 6” [15 cm] tall.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS

Bpdc: (back post double crochet) Yarn over, insert hook from back to front then to back, going around post of indicated st, draw up a loop, [yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice. Skip st in front of the Bpdc.

Fpdc: (front post double crochet) Yarn over, insert hook from front to back then to front, going around post of indicated st, draw up a loop, [yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice. Skip st behind the Fpdc.

sc2tog: [Draw up a loop in next st] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

MOM’S MITT

Ch 30.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across – 28 dc.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn, [Fpdc, Bpdc] across to last st, dc in last st.

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 7½” [19 cm] from beginning.

Decrease Row: Ch 1, turn, [sc2tog] 14 times – 14 sc.

Repeat Decrease Row – 7 sc.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Thread tail through remaining sts and pull to close. Secure end.

FINISHING

Embroider eyes in satin stitch with Black.

EAR (make 2)

Ch 10.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 5 ch, 6 dc in last ch, turn to work along opposite side of foundation ch, dc in next 6 ch – 20 dc.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st to end of row.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Fold straight short end in half and sew Ear on one side of top of Mitt. Repeat to sew opposite Ear on opposite side at top of Mitt.

TAIL

Wrap yarn around square of cardboard 40 times. Slide off cardboard and tie a piece of yarn tightly around center of loops. Cut all loops open and trim to desired length. Sew Tail in center of back of Mitt. Weave in ends.

CHILD’S MITT

Ch 26.

Work as for Mom’s Mitt until piece measures 4½” [11.5 cm] from beginning – 24 sts.

Decrease Row: Ch 1, turn, [sc2tog] 12 times – 12 sc.

Repeat Decrease Row – 6 sc.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Thread tail through remaining sts and pull to close. Secure end.

Work Ears and Tail and Finishing as for Mom’s Mitt.
