Snowflake Holiday Card
Delicate snowflakes in three different sizes adorn this enchanting holiday card. Metallic thread makes them glisten for a special memento of the season.

- AUNT LYDIA’S® Metallic Crochet Thread, Size 10: 1 ball 1P White/ Pearl
- Susan Bates® Steel Crochet Hook: 1.5mm [US 7]
- Tapestry needle
Additional Supplies Needed:
craft glue, blank card
GAUGE: Rounds 1 and 2 of Large or Medium Snowflake = 1¼” (3 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Large Snowflake
Measures 2½” (6 cm) across;
Medium Snowflake
Measures 1¾” (4.4 cm) across;
Small Snowflake
Measures 1½” (4 cm) across

Special Abbreviation
Triple Picot = (ch 3, slip st, ch 4, slip st, ch 3, slip st) all in 3rd ch from hook.

Large Snowflake (Make 1)
Ch 5; join with a slip st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 2, [3 dc in ring, ch 2] 5 times; join with a slip st in top of ch-3 – 18 dc, 6 ch-2 spaces.
Round 2: Slip st in next dc, [(3 hdc, tr, 3 hdc) in next ch-2 space, skip next dc, slip st in next dc] 6 times; join with a slip st in slip st.
Round 3: Slip st to next tr, [ch 7, (slip st, ch 2, dc, ch 2, slip st, ch 3, slip st) all in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, slip st in same tr, slip st in each st to next tr] 6 times. Fasten off.
Ch 5; join with a slip st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 2, [3 dc in ring, ch 2] 5 times; join with a slip st in top of ch-3 – 18 dc, 6 ch-2 spaces.
Round 2: Slip st in next dc, [(3 hdc, tr, 3 hdc) in next ch-2 space, skip next dc, slip st in next dc] 6 times; join with a slip st in slip st.
Round 3: Slip st to next tr, [ch 7, (slip st, ch 2, dc, ch 2, slip st, ch 3, slip st) all in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, slip st in same tr, slip st in each st to next tr] 6 times. Fasten off.
Medium Snowflake (Make 1)
Rounds 1 and 2: Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 of Large Snowflake.
Round 3: * Ch 3, tr in same st, skip next 3 hdc, (slip st, ch 5, slip st in 3rd ch from hook, ch 1, slip st, ch 3, tr) all in next tr, slip st in next slip st; repeat from * around. Fasten off.
Rounds 1 and 2: Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 of Large Snowflake.
Round 3: * Ch 3, tr in same st, skip next 3 hdc, (slip st, ch 5, slip st in 3rd ch from hook, ch 1, slip st, ch 3, tr) all in next tr, slip st in next slip st; repeat from * around. Fasten off.
Small Snowflake (Make 1)
Ch 4; join with a slip st to form a ring.
Round 1: [(Ch 4, triple picot, ch 4, slip st) in ring] 6 times; join with slip st in first ch. Fasten off.
Round 1: [(Ch 4, triple picot, ch 4, slip st) in ring] 6 times; join with slip st in first ch. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Apply small dots of glue on wrong side of snowflake points. Glue to front of card, following photo for placement.
