Lace Christmas Stocking

The Guinness Book of World records awarded the World’s Largest Christmas Stocking title to The Children’s Society December 2007 at ExCel in London. The winning stocking was made from over 6,000 red knitted squares and finished size was 32.56m long (107 feet) and 14.97m (49ft) wide. That is the equivalent weight of three reindeer! It was filled with 1000 presents, which were then given to children in The Children’s Society’s projects.I would love do a record breaking stocking in crochet!

Here is a quick and easy to crochet stocking pattern that is very lacy and feminine looking. For an easy lining you could purchase a plain stocking and tuck it down inside of this lace stocking. The cuff is crocheted after the body of the stocking so you could easily change the colors to whatever yarn you would like. Have fun experimenting with different yarns like bulky weight yarn or a textured novelty yarn. We would love for you to send photographs of your stocking.

Love, love, love this stocking. I recently found out that I am going to be a grandma again. And if it is a little girl, I want this stocking for her. 🙂
