Crochet Along – Santa Pillow Part 3 – Reindeer

In this video you will learn how to make the Reindeer antlers.I tried several different way of making the antlers.I think the way I have done them is the best. As you can see in the Reindeer photo below I have not sewn any ends in.I may need them to sew the parts to the front of the pillow, so I have left them.When he is put together I think he’s going to be super cute!!!



REINDEER Crochet Pattern



Body

Row 1:(Right Side) Starting at top, with Tan, ch 8, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc), hdc in next 3 ch, 2 dc in last ch. (7 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1 turn, 2 hdc in 1st dc, (hdc in next st) across to last dc, 2 hdc in last dc. (9 hdc)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each hdc across. (9 hdc)

Rows 4-5: Rep Rows 2-3. DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Body Edging

Rnd 1: With right side facing, working in sides of rows, evenly work 8 sc, working in unused lps of starting chain, sc in next 5 ch, working in sides of rows on opposite side, evenly work 8 sc; join with sl st to first hdc of Row 5. Finish off leaving long end.



Mouth

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Tan, ch 6, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 3 sc in last ch, working in unused lps of starting ch on other side, sc in next 3 ch. (12 sc) DO NOT JOIN. MARK ENDS OF EACH ROUND.

Rnd 2: (2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc) twice. (18 sc)

Rnd 3: * (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * once more. (24 sc)

Rnd 4: * (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * once more. (30 sc)

Rnd 5: * (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * once more. (36 sc)

Rnd 6: * (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * once more. (42 sc) Finish off leaving a long end.

Head

Row 1:(Right Side) Starting at center, with Tan, ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (4 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc. (8 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) 4 times. (12 sc)

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) 4 times. (16 sc)

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) 4 times. (20 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.



Head Edging

Rnd 1: With right side facing, ch 1, (do not turn), working in sides of rows, evenly work 12 hdc across. Finish off leaving long end.

Nose

Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, with WB, ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in each sc across. (6 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging: DO NOT TURN, sl st in side of Row 2, (sl st, ch 1, sl st) in unused lp of starting ch, sl st in side of Row 2; join to first sl st. Finish off and weave in ends.



Ears
(Make 2)

Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, with Tan, ch 4, 3 hdc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first hdc), hdc in last ch.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, hdc in each hdc across. (5 hdc)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, hdc dec, hdc in next hdc, hdc dec. (3 hdc)

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, keeping last loop of each st on hook, hdc in next 3 hdc, yo and pull through all lps on hook. DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging: Ch 2, turn, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, working in sides of rows, evenly sl st around ear. Finish off and weave in ends.



Antlers
(Make 2)

Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, with MB, ch 10, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next 5 ch (leave rem 3 ch), ch 10, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next 5 ch (leave rem 3 ch), ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next 4 ch, sl st in rem 6 unworked ch.

Row 2: Ch 2, working on other side of ch, hdc in each ch around shape, working 5 hdc in antler tips. Finish off and weave in ends.

    I think the pillow is adorable. I want make one for each of my grandchildren. I wasn’t able to view the follow along video but I did print up the directions thank you for the hard works you did to make a pattern of it.
