#18 Sunshine Crochet Dishcloth

 

Believe it not, Wendi’s hobbies include crochet.  Next to her TV chair is a basket of yarn and a box of hooks. She usually has a few projects on the go at one time. One day she hopes to get around to tackling all the UFOs (Un-Finished Objects) or finishing a PhD (Project half-Done).

Skill: Easy

Size: About 8 inches square.

Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn:

Variegated Yellows – 2 oz, 95 yds (56 g, 86 m)

White – 10 yds

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

CLOTH

Row 1: (Right Side) With Yellows, ch 25, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (24 sc)

Rows 2-26: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Border

Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 3 sc in last sc; * working in sides of rows, evenly work 22 sc *; working in unused lps of starting ch on other side, 3 sc in first ch, (sc in next ch) across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to * once; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Edging

Rnd 1: With right side facing, join White with sc to center sc of any 3-sc corner, ch 3, sc in same st, * (ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc) across to corner, ch 3, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same corner sc; rep from * twice more, (ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc) across; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
