Kathleen Wrote: My name is Kathleen Stuart and I learned to crochet when I was ten and have been crocheting and designing crochet ever since.
I started my “career” in crochet in 1991 after reading about crochet designs wanted for a crochet magazine. I was amazed that my first design was accepted! I design as a hobby. My four children are my inspiration for many designs. I love to crochet stuffed animals and toys, along with afghans and other items. I enjoy using whimsy in many of my designs. My designs have been in many crochet magazines and books over the years.
I am a professional member of the Crochet Guild of America and enjoy attending my local chapter, South Bay Crochet. I love the opportunity that I have had to meet many of the crochet “greats” with this group.
I joined the dishcloth challenge for several reasons. The first reason is that I love to make things for charity. The second reason is that I love a challenge!
I live in San Jose, California with my husband, Harold.
This dishcloth is in memory of my son, James (August 14, 1987- September 19, 2010). He was my inspiration for this dishcloth as James loved popcorn! He ate it almost every day. What a better way to use a popcorn stitch in crochet than in making a box or bag of popcorn?
Thank you for joining the Dishcloth-a-Day Challenge Kathleen and for sharing your story and talent with us.
Follow me onto dishcloth #45 and the rest of the story…
